My time in NGADM has come to an end, but it was a wonderful experience! I feel slightly disappointed to have made it so close to the end only to be knocked out, but I met so many great people along the way that I feel like I'm walking away with a lot more than I had before entering. I also didn't expect to make it as far as I did, so I'm really happy with how I did. It was a pleasure competing and I can't wait to see how my two new friends, Jordi and Grant, do in the semi-finals.
Good luck to the final four -- steelside, FinnMK, johnfn and EtherealWinds! :) You guys are all fantastic.
I feel like things are about to get scary. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting for their results. Started work on my song for Round 3 and it's quite different, so hopefully it goes over well.
My NGADM song is in a complete state just a couple of days before it's due for submission. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-
I know that not many people followed me here, but I'll be posting some new things soon. I met some really great people in the short time I was here and hope to reconnect. :)
Hit the most brutal case of writer's block. Had a piece I was working on that I thought was going to be fantastic, but no matter how much I wrangled with it, it just WOULD NOT work. *pulls hair out* It's fundamentally flawed in some way and I really struggled to let go of it. Instead, I've decided to work on developing my skills by copying a bunch of great music that I like. Hopefully I'll post something here again soon :)
I changed my username. I didn't like the idea of having a guitar model of a major brand being part of my name, so I changed it to an old classic of mine. I kept the 42 as an identifying factor, but also because I'm pretty sure that my 13 year old self already has the McGorilla username in some dead account...
Good idea/bad idea? I'm using the same account I had when I was 15 and don't really consider this one particularly good or memorable. Should I do it before becoming more established or...does no one really care?
I have three months to kill and if I get unproductive, I get depressed and that sucks, so if you need some music, hit me up and I'll see what I can do. I'm going to be making music/studying sound engineering for fun anyway, but having a project is a great way to stay motivated.
