Your stuff is killer! :D

ABitApe responds:

Thanks man! :D Happy to hear that :)

Absolutely fantastic, as is the rest of your work! :) I hope you garner some more attention because your music is top-notch. I wouldn't mind chatting some time about your education with orchestral music, which library you're using (Composer Cloud maybe?), and your opinion on how important having a good sound library is! Keep well and keep making the great music! :)

TristanGray responds:

Honestly there isn't much to say about my "music education", I never went to a music school and learned music theory by myself, and I'm still learning more advanced subjects. That, and I just listened to a lot of orchestral music since I was a kid. As for libraries, majority of the instruments indeed comes from East-West composer cloud. And honestly, having good libraries is not as important as having actual technical knowledge. Most of the self-taught composers out there seem to think that higher quality libraries will solve everything, while you can spot the basic mistakes in their music... while it can help and improve overall quality, it will not help with the lack of effort and poor mix.
Have you heard about Vienna Library? Honestly except a good quality of the samples I don't think it's all that good. Lack of separation between different mic positions, low number of round-robbins makes it sound repetetive, and by itself it's not particularly flexible. And now there are far better libraries out there. Yet it's good enough for someone like Danny Elfman (when he's not using real orchestra, but he himself stated in the VSL interview that he often layers real orchestra with sampled libraries). And that alone says something.

Oh baby. I like it! That bass sounds wet as hell. Great work :)

TIMETRAVL responds:

thank you :)

Very nice and relaxing! I might push the drums a little further back into the mix so they match the overall vibe, and do some frequency cuts in the swelling synths (200-600hz? they're a little boxy!), but overall, this is very good :)

This is super cool!

Man, this is so nostalgic. Reminds me of being a kid twenty years ago, playing my Sega Mega Drive with my buddy on the carpet. Mind me asking how you made it? (DAW/plugins etc). Absolutely love your stuff :) I can tell that you are a skilled musician who pays attention to every detail of your work, especially your basslines which are all fantastic.

tripledigit responds:

Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you liked it. This was made in famitracker.

This is fantastic :) I really like it a lot! I can totally see this fitting into a game. It reminds me of a spooky level for Crash Bandicoot for some reason, but I never actually played Crash Bandicoot...Great bassline and melody and sounds! :)

Nice one! You can do the orchestral stuff and the cool electronic stuff too! Killing it! :D Maybe I'll post something soon, but I feel intimidated by work like yours, haha.

I make music. Some is electronic and some has guitars and pianos in it. I'm mainly focusing on game music at the moment.
Hope you enjoy what you find here!
