Was about to go to bed but couldn't resist listening! :D Great work on this, man. Such great energy and I really dig your drops too! I expect a close fight :) I'll upload early next week and wish you all the best too!

I really enjoyed this, Chrono! Thanks for taking the time to make it. I agree that you have a great voice for podcasting. Hope to hear more from you in future rounds!

ChronoNomad responds:

Aw, thanks a bunch, McG! As long as you guys enjoy them, that's enough to keep me making more of them throughout the duration of the Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch. One per round seems to be working out nicely.

And more voice compliments! Jeez, you're all so sweet... I think I'm getting cavities! ;D

Are you the next Waterflame? Because damn, this is great. And you're still so young...I cannot wait to see how good you are by the time you're the same age as many of your competitors in NGADM. Love the melodies and sounds you've used in this piece. The mix is also really solid so you've nailed it on all fronts. I'm not a big synth/electro guy so I'm sure other people will have more constructive criticisms, but I'm still impressed!

Fantastic work and good luck in this round!

Fantastic work, guys! It boggles my mind that you guys are able to pull this sort of thing out of the bag last minute. I love the blend of orchestral and more modern instruments and synths; it works amazingly well.

I hope you guys do really well this round! Good luck.

all deadline trolling aside, we _did_ actually finish most of this track a week early. the rest of the time was spent touching up, mixing, stuff like that.

Beautiful, EW. It was such a pleasure being allowed to hear this piece take form over the many versions I heard over the last couple of days. This is absolutely phenomenal and I can't wait to see how everyone else responds to it! Good luck in this round :)

etherealwinds responds:

thank you again for your help! wanted to try and up my game with my mixing and i learned a lot from you, so thankssss and good luck to you this round too!

condragulations, you are the winner of this challenge xx

This is incredibly beautiful, Jordi. I'm constantly blown away by your voice, your versatility, your compositions and how you seem to effortlessly flow between different languages in each of your songs. Unbelievable!

This is great, Adjeye. I don't listen to this type of music very often so I can't give an educated criticism, but I enjoy the energy of it. I especially like the drop at 1:30, but also the quiet bridge around 2:30. There's an aspect of musicality in this piece that shines through and gives a breather to the more technical synth production and fast-pace that is often neglected with this sort of music (from my very limited experience). Great work!

I hope you do well in this round! :)

Adjeye responds:

Most of the work in these tracks are in sound design and drums, it takes hours and sometimes days before I myself am satisfied with the produced synths/sounds. I am glad you noticed it :)

I hope I will make it to next round as well, but CloakedSoup is also really good and I fear the worst for this round!

Oh well, being knocked out doesn't mean I won't be able to produce any more, so you will still keep hearing from me :)

I wanted to write something nice, but you said I shouldn't until it's finished. Eagerly awaiting the final version! Glad you're still in this, 1f1n1ty! :)

Onefin responds:

Aw but now that you've left one you won't be able to leave the better one later

Really great and interesting piece, Spadezer. I enjoy the melody of the music box and the way it builds into something bigger and more orchestral. You've created a great atmospheric piece and I really like sparse, but slightly driving percussive section that appears in the chorus.

I see what BlueOceans was saying about the pad's fade-outs being a bit abrupt - I think you could slightly increase the release, or possibly extend the notation so that it overlaps the next section, but then fade it out with automation to achieve the desired break that you're going for. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it also sounds like you played it on a keyboard and didn't release all the notes simultaneously (totally normal for live performances), but the pad thins out as different fingers pull off the keys, and because of the short release time, it makes it sound a little clunky. Luckily this is a tiny discrepancy that can be fixed in five minutes!

But yeah, overall, great work! I hope you do well in this round :)

Spadezer responds:

Thanks for the review. You know what it's obvious what you guys are saying now and now I can point a finger at one part that sounds awkward.

You mention the release times of the pad. It's funny because any sort of recording that I did was edited or placed with a mouse. But either way the pad timing wasn't intentional.

Unfortunately I'm boarding a plane right now so I won't be able to edit it before judging. Thanks for the feedback. It's always appreciated

Damn, this is cool. Really nice, wide mix and the layering of all the various sounds or 'instruments' you're using is done very nicely. The drops and transitions into them are great.

The only thing I'd say I have an issue with is the outro (like the last 8 seconds of the track), but otherwise, very nice work on this! Hope you do well in this round!

MrKoolTrix responds:

Thanks for reviewing. :)

I make music. Some is electronic and some has guitars and pianos in it. I'm mainly focusing on game music at the moment.
Hope you enjoy what you find here!
